Atrial flutter is a condition, like atrial fibrillation where the upper chambers (atria) beat too quickly.
This is caused by an abnormal electrical circuit, a re-entrant pathway which can be in the left or right atrium.
As with atrial fibrillation a Cardiomyopathy may develop as the heart muscle can become tired and weak.
Methods of treatment can include medication or procedures such as DC reversion or ablation procedure. Some patients may also require a permanent Pacemaker.
